The Local’s Breakfast Spot

by Seth on Feb.23, 2009, under Food, Travel

During the weekend in Chico, Me and the boys (Trav, Sinner and Timmy) went to a local breakfast spot called “The Morning Thunder”.  The Morning Thunders is a retro style breakfast joint with classic American staples such as Huge Pancakes, Omelltes and Bagel Sandwhiches.  Most of there dishes are accompanied by a healthly portion of fried Red Potatoes.  I had the Denver Omelette which was awesome.  If your are ever in Chico and want to start your day off with a nice breakfast…Definately go to the Morning Thunder!

Great Pizza in Chico, CA!

by Seth on Feb.23, 2009, under Food, Travel

I had a chance last weekend to spend some time in Chico, CA with my buddies from College.  We woke up a bit Hung over on Saturday morning and had a serious hankrin’ for some greasy food so we walked downtown to this place called “WoodStock Pizza”.  Of course the menu was huge but we decided to settle on a pizza called “The Meat Orgy”…LOL.  All I can say was WOW….Very Meaty and Very Greasy.  Of course we each had a liter of beer with the Meat Pie which made for the perfect addition to a hung over Saturday. Overall the pizza was good but the GREASE content was a bit much towards the 3rd slice. Would I eat here again?….Yes but only if I am hung over…ha ha ha.

Best Burger in SLC!

by Seth on Jan.29, 2009, under Food, Travel

Today I had the chance to try out a local burger joint (Located in Salt Lake City) called “JCW”!  I must admit that I was not a beliver until I took my first bite.  I order the Double-Double JCW Cheeseburger and it was slammin’.  JCW flame broils there patties which make for a delicious chared flavor and the condiments are great as well.  Fry Sauce is the ketchup of Utah much like Ranch with Reno.  Fry Sauce not only goes on the Fries but the Burger as well.  TWO THUMBS UP to JCW!  I’ll be back.

Cajun-Style flame boriled Chicken a Hit at The Homestead!

by Seth on Nov.24, 2008, under Food

Sunday evening I decided to make an attempt to cook my Dads Cajun Chicken. The Chicken came out great! To assist the flavors of the South, I made some seasoned rice and home made dirty red mashed potatoes w/ broccoli and cheddar cheese. The Cajun Chicken was full of flavor and was relatively simple to cook. If you interested in the recipe, hit me up. Us Southern folk love to share recipes. Spread the love….peace.

Great Pizza Luncheon at LAMPPOST PZZA

by Seth on Nov.11, 2008, under Food

Today at work we celebrated the departure of one of our most beloved employees, Laura Turpak.  Laura has been with Twelve Horses for quite sometime but was bitten by the ski bum bug.  She decided late last month that it was time to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the corporate world and relocate to ASPEN, CO for 6 months and SKI her tail off!  We are all excited for her and wish her the best of luck on the slopes of, but we also enjoyed some GREAT pizza for her celebration.  Lamppost Pizza is a new arrival to the Reno, located out in the South Meadows area.  They have many Pies to choose from but I highly recommend the “WHOLE NINE YARDS” pizza.  This pizza is loaded with an assortment of many great veggies and meats which makes for a mouth full of excitement. Also a shout out to the Mediterranean pizza (It was a hit for most but I don’t like green olives, so I did not partake) If your ever in the South Meadows area of Reno, stop by Lamppost.  They also have great a great lunch special: 2 Slices of Pepperoni or Cheese pizza & Soft drink for $5.00!
