Today is another sad day for the music industry.  Teddy Pendgrass passed away yesterday afternoon at the age of 59.  Words can not express how Teddy’s music transformed life’s and the R&B music industry.  With his heart felt lyrics and bold yet smooth sound, Teddy has a magical way of exploiting the REAL emotions that we all feel in relationships.  Many of his lyrics and hooks can still be heard in the current top 40 pop songs.  DJ’s around the world sample his music to this day, creating masterpieces for the New Skool to enjoy.  I place him in the same legendary group as Marvin Gay, Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Barry White.

Teddy’s career was short lived as he suffered a severe car accident that paralyzed him from the waist down.  Despite his misfortune he continued to live a strong and inspirational life.  I trust that Teddy is in a better place and I hope that NO ONE ever forgets the “Teddy Bear”.  R.I.P.
