Song of the Day – Death by Sunrise
by Seth on Oct.30, 2009, under MUSIC!!!!
WOW! So I heard that lead singer “Chester” from Linkin Park formed a side project but never took the time to research until now. All I can say is YES! Chester is bringing back the awesome synth rock sounds of the : Depeche Mode, The Cure and many others ( I know that I am forgetting many great synth rock bands of the 80’s, but I haven’t had my coffee yet)…Please let me know what ya’ll think about this track.

LOVE TKO. Classic song that paved the way for modern day R&B. This a bit sad, but for some reason it makes me still feel groovy! Teddy Pendergrass…..LEGEND. Enjoy.
Song of the Day – Box Car Racer
by Seth on Oct.23, 2009, under MUSIC!!!!
Forgot about “Box Car” yeah well….so did I but today I remembered a great song that changed my life when I was in high school. In high school I had an obsession with Travis Barker and wanted soooooo badly to be able to play the drums like him but most of his stuff was too complicated for my rather novice style of drumming until…I heard “Cat like thief”. For the first time I was able to hear Travis’s broken down style and finally I was able to depict his beat. I played this “Cat like thief” for hours in the garage until my mother was ready to kill me!!! This song gave me the confidence to explore more of Travis’s beats and now I’m able to keep up with him (but by no means will I ever be Travis Barker). This song is simple but very important to my growth as a musician so if you don’t like…shut up…cause this brings back great memories of my childhood in my mother garage with my first drum set. Enjoy.
Song of the Day – Whitney Houston
by Seth on Oct.22, 2009, under MUSIC!!!!
She’s Back! Whitney Houston once again returns to the “Lime Light” with her new Video / Single : “Million Dollar Bill”. I didn’t expect much when first watching this video but was quickly captivated by Whitney’s timeless voice and catchy melodies. I have yet to find the time, to sit down and listen to her NEW album: “I turn to you” ,but if this video is her new standard then I expect nothing but Platinum from her new album release. We all know that Whitney has had quite an interesting life as of late and reality television made that apparent but it seems that with the announcement of her and Bobby parting ways…She is back to the grind and restoring her reputation in the music industry. As most kids of the 90’s, I grew up with a crush on Whitney and love to see her back! Good Luck Whitney. Don’t blow it….ha ha ha. Enjoy the video.

"THE EPIC" Father & Son fishing trip.
by Seth on Oct.19, 2009, under Family & Friends, Travel
Last weekend, my father and I journeyed up to Washington to explore the Columbia River and chase the great Coho Salmon! We did not know what to expect because fishing season was nearing the end but the fishing gods were once again on our side and we scored some great catches. The Coho Salmon is a fun fish to hunt and exudes great athleticism and strength. If you ever have the chance to fish for the Coho Salmon, please don’t hesitate. Also, it was great to catch up with my father and share some quality time. As I get older the more I realize that I am a spitting image of my old man. The weekend was filled with great fishing, countless amounts of laughter and of course cocktails! This was the exact weekend I needed. Thanks Dad for the fishing trip…you ROCK! Next Year ALASKA!!!!!!
Also, special thanks to Dave Perez, our trusty fishing guide. I highly recommend Dave. He is very knowledgeable and patient with his fish tracking. He will MAKE SURE you catch your limit. Thanks Dave, we will see you next year! (hopefully in Alaska) If interested in Dave’s services please visit: http://www.hookedonfishingguideservice.com/

Song of the day – Ghost Face Killah
by Seth on Oct.16, 2009, under MUSIC!!!!
WUUUUUUUU TANNNNG! Yes…. one of the infamous members of the Legendary rap group “Wu Tang Clan” is back with his new single “Baby”. I heard this song for the first time on TV last night and was drawn in by the all-so familiar late 90’s R&B beat but then Ghost Face came on the track and dropped his fire like always. Of course Ghost Face, like all men, is growing up and it is obvious in his New Single his mind is wrapped around Fatherhood, but he still has his Ghost Face swagger of expressing his emotions with his crafty lyrics. Enjoy and HAPPY FRIDAY! Be safe and enjoy the weekend. I’m off to Seattle….Peace.
P.S. Big Ups! to my boy G-Money…Hope you had a good day on the links. I want some Popeye’s Chicken…lol great lyric.
Bonus song of the Day – Death Cab
by Seth on Oct.15, 2009, under MUSIC!!!!
OKAY so today I met an awesome fellow by the user name Cville Seth “Cville” on my blog. From what it seems he has been following my “Songs of the Day” for quite sometime and I am thrilled to have finally exchanged in conversation with such a knowledgeable individual. Anyways, I was inspired and began to dig into my collection of favorite songs. That proved to be too hard as I enjoy so many different genres of music so since I am in an INDIE mood, I arrived at one of the modern day Indie classics by none other than Death Cab For Cutie. Now, many people claim that Indie music is “EMO” or depressing but I feel as if it is simply another form of art/music. Indie music is raw and real. Real life lyrics with extremely talented musicians who crafted their musical genius into their heavy and rather complex lyrics. Simply Art. Simply Music. For the record, let me say that in our day and age, it is truly side that people feel as if music in an IDENTITY….Wrong. Music is not an Identity but a form of expressions or entertainment that can and should be enjoyed by all so… DO IT. Listen to what you want and explore other sounds and genres. If you do so, you will find that ALL Musical Genres learn and adopt various styles and practices from one another. The world is not a large as one might think and music has a beautiful way of displaying the intimate relationship of our world. That being said Rock out, Jam on, Keep on Groovin’ and Explore! Here’s to CVILLE, a true inspiration to the curiosity of the human soul. Enjoy the chosen track from Death Cab…Turn it up…close your eyes and escape for a minute to musical tranquility. lol
Cheers,
