Spring time is here and of course fishing is awesome. I recently moved downtown, and now have the luxury of walking to my favorite fishing holes on the Truckee River. The fishing has been steady but this last week, I have been catching nothing but the planters. I’m not a picky fisherman, as I enjoy just getting out in the open air. Yesterday I decided to try out my true skills and use strictly a spinner, and as always, I came through in the clutch! I was on the river for about a hour and pulled out 10 beautiful little Brook-Rainbow Trout Hybrids(ranging from 8″ to 12″). Again, none of the catches were spectacular but nothing is better than catching fish with a spinner. The fast paced retrieval and the art of presentation makes for a glorious adventure.
