One Year Aniversary with Big Brothers Big Sisters!

by Seth on Jun.26, 2009, under Misc.

This week me and my little brother Jarriel, celebrated our One Year Anniversary as a match.  I must say that this has been an amazing year for both of us.  Spending time with this little man brightens up my days ,and he continually brings joy to my life.  Over the last year I have watched him become more out spoken and courageous.  He has really come a long way and I look forward to his progress in becoming a well rounded young man.  As for me, a Big Brother has brought a whole new spectrum to my life and I encourage all to get involved in this program.  There is a large population of children that are desperate for a friend to talk to and to dream with.  The greatest gift as a Big has truly been the delight of helping my little achieve his dreams and dream bigger.  ENCOURAGEMENT is key and I now understand first hand, the power of  positive encouragement.

“That Girl”…This was my jam back in the day. I was just thinkin’ about a special girl from College that had me all strung up. This song reminds me of the moment when you realize that you are WHIPPED on a girl…but DON’T CARE…..ha ha ha. Enjoy.

Freemans Natural Hotdogs A+

by Seth on Jun.19, 2009, under Food, Misc.

Yesterday I was driving back to my place and I noticed a new little eatery in Downtown Reno and had to stop by!,  “Freemans Natural Hotdogs”.  When I walked in I was greeted by a young dude named “Darnell” who was jammin’ on some “Lil Wayne & Yung Money”.  I briefly scanned the menu and immediately settled on my choice, “The Ditrty South Dawg”. This Hot Dog included : All Natural Beef Dog, BBQ Sauce, Crumbled Bacon, Browned Onions and Fetta Cheese; All packed into a Onion Sesame Seed bun.  Once I received my dog, I immediately took a huge bite and was satisfied completely with all the flavors totally owning my taste buds!  Freeman’s was an awesome experience and I would recommend this eatery to anyone who wants to explore the amazing combination’s of the All-American Classic Hot Dog taken to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL! If you like Hot Dogs or want to try a “REAL” DOG..check it out…You will thank me later! For more details on the menu, please visit: www.fnhotdog.com

Trout…It's whats for dinner.

by Seth on Jun.17, 2009, under Food

Yesterday evening, I again journeyed down to the great Truckee River and caught a beautiful Brook and Rainbow Trout.  On this fine evening, I decided to keep two of my catches and prepare a fresh fish dinner. I rode my bike home, simply gutted the fish, stuffed the trout with Garlic Clove, 2 Bay leaves each, lightly sprinkled Dill Weed, 2 tea spoons of butter, and spriknled both sides of the fishes with Montreal Seasoning (I know..typically for a Steak but TRY IT). Once the seasoning was complete, I wrapped the trout pair in foil, set my oven at 350 degrees and let em’ cook for about 45 mins. To accompany my evening catch, I browned some potatoes in a skillet w/ Olive Oil, Red Onion and White Mushrooms.  Also, you can never go wrong with steamed Broccoli florets.  After all was said and done, the meal was FANTASTIC!  The fish meat was falling off the bone and the Potatoes and Broccoli assisted with the flavor profile perfectly.  Check out the pics…they are pretty cool.
